Luxor (Esna) - Aswan "05 days - 04 nights"

Upon arrival in Luxor, the Oriental Tours representative will be awaiting the guests to became his best friend for the coming few days in his home away from home.
We only deal with professional Egyptian, long experienced,  and highly educated tour guides that have outstanding communication and linguistic skills to offer the tourists with the highest degrees of services
We start our visits of Luxor by exploring the Valley of the Kings, the necropolis of New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. The Pharaohs of the 18th dynasty till the 20th dynasty wished to protect their tombs against thieves; this was why they dig their tombs deep in the Theban Mountain, called the Theban peak. This includes the wonderful tomb of Tut Ankh Amun, discovered by Howard Carter in 1922.
Our next visit will be to the Temple of Hatshepsut; this magnificent mortuary temple was named the Splendid of splendids. It was constructed by the first Queen to rule over Egypt in the 15th century BC. Afterwards, many sections of the temple were destroyed by Ramses II and many of his successors. During the Coptic period of Egypt, the temple was transformed into a monastery, titled El Deir El Bahary.
Our next stop will be to the giant Colossi of Memnon; these two statues are the only remaining items of the mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III that was constructed in the 14th century BC. Standing about 20 meters high, these two statues were named the Colossi of Memnon during the Roman period when one of the statues used to making a humming sound.
Our last visit of the day will be to the Karnak Temple, the largest and the most important Pharaonic temple in the whole world. Established in the New Kingdom, the Temple or the complex of temples of Karnak was constructed over around 1300 years. Every king and Pharaoh of Egypt wanted to have his addition in the Karnak. This was why it turned out at the end to become the largest Pharaonic complex in Egypt.
The guests are then transferred using the most comfortable air conditioned vehicles to Esna, 54 kilometers tom the South of Luxor, at the end of the day to start their journey in the Dahabeya ship.
Overnight in the Dahabeya landing in one of the nice islands located to the North of Edfu

We begin our day with the tasty breakfast at the Dahabeya and we continue sailing towards Edfu
We reach the town of Edfu, 115 kilometers south of Luxor.
We go on a wonderful horse carriage ride towards the Temple of Horus in Edfu, the best preserved Ptolemaic Temple in Egypt. The structure was constructed by Ptolemy III in 237 BC and it was completed during the reign of Ptolemy XII in the 1st century BC. The temple is actually a wonderful copy of much ancient Pharaonic temples and it is in a wonderfully preserved state.
Our next visit will be to the souk or market of Edfu where the guests will have a chance to buy gifts, souvenirs, and everything that Egyptian shops have to offer.
In the evening we reach the Speos of Hormoheb, the last king of the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. This chapel that was cut into the rocks contains many wall reliefs, statues, and scenes of the Hormoheb and the god Amun.
We will land in front of the Speos of Hormoheb. The Dahabeya staff will prepare everything to have a magical dinner on the ground. With the lighted temple in front of us, we will have dinner while listening to the most wonderful and entertaining music.
Overnight in the Dahabeya

After the great energizer breakfast, we go on sailing towards Kom Ombo
We reach the Temple of Sobek in Kom Ombo; this marvelous Greco Roman temple is quite symmetrical in everything. Being dedicated to the two gods; the falcon god, Haroeris, and the Crocodile god, Sobek, the temple has two entrances, two halls, and two sanctuaries. The temple was started in the 3rd century BC and it was completed by the Roman emperor, Augustus, in the year 30 AD.
We will then land in one of the small magical islands in the River Nile to have dinner in a great distinctive location close to the doors of Aswan city .
Overnight in the Dahabeya

Pick up in the morning to explore the wonders of Aswan, this historical city that was always believed to have its own magic. With the Nile in Aswan being very wide, watching the river and the islands in Aswan is different than any other place in Egypt
We start our visits with the Temple of Philae, the center of the worship of Isis, the famous Egyptian god. This temple was constructed starting from the 4th century BC and the completed in the late Ptolemaic period to the early Roman period in Egypt. After the construction of the High Dam, the temple was relocated with the help of the UNESCO to its new location that we visit today.
Our next visit to the Souk of Aswan. Being famous all over Egypt for having a wide variety of products especially spices and herbs, a visit to the market of Aswan is essential for any tourist visiting the city.
We go on with our visit and go to explore the Unfinished Obelisk; a New Kingdom semi finished obelisk is laying down in ancient granite quarry in the South of Aswan. If it had been used and erected, being 1.8 million kilograms, it would have been the largest obelisk in history. The most remarkable feature of visiting the unfinished obelisk is that it would be accompanied by interpretation of how ancient Egyptians constructed obelisks.
We get ready for the final night in the Dahabeya when we will have a great time in the Egyptian Night, an event organized by the Dahabeya as a farewell party at the last evening of their trip
Overnight in the Dahabeya

After the usual great breakfast in the Dahabeya, it will time to farewell the Dahabeya ship and the staff after spending a dreamy vacation sailing down the Nile and exploring the wonders of ancient Egypt.
Disembark the ship and get ready for your next trip
Transportation to the Aswan railway station and the Aswan Airport are available upon request.

Small boats , The Dahabeya

The latest invention or let us say recreation of the Egyptians to make the Nile Cruises journey even more enjoyable is the reuse of the Dahabiya style cruise ships.

Many tourists would wonder what is a Dahabyia exactly? The Dahabeya was an elegant style of boats that the royal family of Egypt and the Egyptian aristocrats used during the beginning of the 20th century, the 1920s till the 1940s, to cruise the Nile.

The name Dahabeya was actually derived from the word Dahab, meaning gold in Arabic, a name that these ships have got from the first Dahabeya ships that used to sail the Nile in Egypt in the beginning of the 20th century and they were golden colored.

A group of friends or a family would rent these wonderful boats and have a wonderful vacation exploring the Pharaonic temples of ancient Egypt on board of these House boats .

These Dahabiya sailing boats s are perfect if you want to travel to Egypt and book your Egypt holiday . it should have been one of your choices in your Egypt travel packages . These Nile cruises sail between Luxor and Aswan , you may called them Luxor cruises .
